BioPharmaceutical Emerging Best Practices Association

About BEBPA

Our Mission

Welcome to the BioPharmaceutical Emerging Best Practices Association (BEBPA), a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing patient safety through the collaborative efforts of the biopharmaceutical scientific community. BEBPA provides an international forum for the presentation and discussion of scientific issues and challenges encountered in biopharmaceutical research and development. By fostering open discussions, BEBPA aims to promote innovative approaches and solutions that enhance patient safety and expedite the development of effective and reliable biopharmaceutical products.

BEBPA aims to publish white papers that address challenges faced by the biopharmaceutical community, including companies, regulators, and clinicians, during product development. These papers will identify emerging issues that benefit from early discussion and provide a variety of approaches to solving common problems. To support this process, smaller conferences will focus on these topics, leading to the publication of non-consensus white papers.

These papers are not intended to serve as formal guidance documents but rather to present diverse perspectives for scientific discussion. Because they do not prescribe a preferred approach, they can be published quickly to contribute to ongoing dialogue. By sharing potential solutions, BEBPA seeks to accelerate the development of consensus best practices within the biopharmaceutical community.

BEBPA is a well-established association and is continuing to evolve. Our goals for the future are to:

A Note From Our Founders

Dr. C Jane Robinson, Dr. Laureen Little and
Dr. Hans-Joachim Wallny:

The genesis of BEBPA came from a number of scientists from various companies, institutes and regulatory agencies. As our discussions matured we realized that despite the various venues for meetings and publication, there was no place for new approaches and ideas about common problems to be openly discussed and vetted without firms worrying that their comments would be taken as corporate policy. Each individual expressed the belief that something should be done about this – and that if something were done by the industry as a whole, then the individual companies involved would benefit immensely. We decided that 2008 was the year to do something and thus BEBPA was born. Please feel free to contact us and volunteer your ideas, suggestions, time and expertise. We need your help.
